Brand guidelines
The Inkspect
brand.
A little ink. A clear point of view.
Here’s how we bring it to life.
Every line deserves a second look.
Attention is our signature.
Ink is the act of making. Inspect is the care we give it. Inkspect brings them together: a second pair of eyes for the code, and respect for the person who wrote it.
Our identity follows the same idea. Black and white. Clear language. Enough space to notice what matters.
Attentive
Look closely. Make the important details easy to see.
Clear
Say what you mean. Give every element a purpose.
Considerate
Respect the work and the person behind it.
An eye inside a drop of ink.
The symbol brings making and attention into one shape. Pair it with the Inkspect wordmark for introductions. Use the symbol on its own when the name is already clear from the context.
Give it room.
Keep at least a quarter of the symbol’s height clear on every side of the symbol or full logo.
Keep it legible.
For digital use, keep the symbol at least 24 px tall and the full logo at least 120 px wide. Always scale proportionally.
Keep the identity intact.
- Use the supplied shapes; do not redraw, stretch, or rotate them.
- Keep the logo black or white, with a clear contrast against its background.
- Avoid gradients, outlines, shadows, and busy backgrounds.
- Keep the symbol and wordmark in their original proportions and spacing.
Let the work bring the color.
Black and white lead. Three supporting neutrals create structure without competing with the code. Use Ink for primary text and Muted for supporting text on Paper or Surface.
Select a color to copy its hex value.
Rule is for boundaries, not body text. Keep text and interactive controls easy to distinguish from their backgrounds.
One family. A clear hierarchy.
Manrope carries the identity, from large headlines to small details. Its open shapes keep the page approachable. Use a system monospace font for code itself.

review.findings
Keep paragraphs short and left-aligned. Use comfortable line spacing. Reserve the tightest letter spacing for large headlines and the wordmark.
Thoughtful. Direct. Human.
Speak like a considerate reviewer: explain what you see, why it matters, and what someone can do next. Be precise about the product and leave the final call to the developer.
“This path skips the permission check. Validate access before returning the result.”
Specific observation. A reason to care. A useful next step.
A few words to keep consistent.
- Inkspect
- One word, capital I. Never InkSpect or Ink Spect.
- Inkspect Cloud
- The managed version of the product.
- Self-hosted Inkspect
- The product running on a team’s own infrastructure.
A little ink, ready to use.
The symbol in black and white, our color palette, and a quick reference for using the identity. The SVGs have transparent backgrounds and scale without losing detail.
Use these assets when referring to Inkspect. Keep your own project’s identity distinct, including when distributing a fork.
